Five commonly asked questions in Group Ex classes

An important part of a group exercise leaders role is education and guidance.  With that in mind, I have compiled a top 5 most commonly asked questions we come across daily, in descending order…

5 What is the best class for me to attend to lose weight?
Not a simple question as each person reacts to the style of classes differently.Using a multitude of muscles will assist in weight lose as more calories are burnt.
 Also, both strength training and cardio vascular exercise is  essential.It is also up to the individual to work to their best for the entire session to make most of the workout and we need to listen to our bodies that day and gage our workout accordingly.Variety is what keeps us returning as well as the endorphins and when we see results .Most clubs will distinguish their classes as to the content of cardio , strength and relaxation.

4  How do I rid myself of flabby arms ?
There is, unfortunately, no exercise that will help a person lose fat in one specific area only. Performing full body toning will produce results and again making use of strength versus strength training to maximize calorie burn.

3  If I use heavy weights, will I build bulky muscl
There are a few essential factors to building muscle;
·         Genetics – those burn with more fast twitch muscles
·         Gender – men have high levels of testosterone and other hormones
·         Intensity of training and
·         Correct diet – factors which we are able to control

2  Do I need to take supplementation ?
Supplements are not recommended unless a person has been diagnosed with a specific vitamin deficiency.Fresh fruit and vegetables are always a better means at obtaining vitamins and minerals than from a tablet.A very small percentage of society suffer from serious deficiency, far less than we imagine.

1 – How do I get a flat tummy ?
Again, we are back to genetics :).There are definitely exercises that can help so we need the combination of cardio vascular and strength training and excellent nutrition.
